Who is Hannah Montana you ask? Well, unless you have been living under a rock this past decade, you would know that Hannah is today’s teen popstar sensation. Just turn on the Disney Channel and you will see her all over it. Despite my age, I absolutely love watching her on TV and think her music is fabulous.

Hannah Montana is actually Miley Cyrus, daughter of the famous singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Leticia Cyrus. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on November 23, 1992 under the name of Destiny Hope Cyrus. Later she was nicknamed Miley because she smiled all the time and her name was legally changed later on. She has a younger sister, an older half sister, a younger brother and two older brothers. Her youngest sister is now also an actress.

Hannah Montana has become a hit for millions of girls worldwide with her songs “One in a million”, “Rockstar” and “Nobody’s Perfect”. Her TV series which debuted on March 24, 2006 was nominated for an American Emmy Award because of it’s popularity. The show is about a teenage girl who transforms secretly into a famous pop singer (Hannah Montana). She keeps this a secret from everyone worldwide except for her family and her close friends because she does not want to live a life filled with overwhelming fans and the click of constant cameras.

Miley had her first acting job as “Kylie” on her father’s Television show called “Doc”. Realizing her beautiful voice and talent as a singer, she auditioned for the role of Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana when she was twelve years old. She almost did not get the part because the producers thought she was too small but later changed their mind.

If you have not heard her music or have seen her show Hannah Montana, you should turn your television to the Disney Channel and watch the average teenager Miley Stewart throw on her blonde wig and rock the stage as the fabulous Hannah Montana. She lights up more than just the stage when she sings, she lights up her entire audience.
