I knew of this band before, just by name and reputation, but hadn’t actually heard their songs. I dont know why, but it never quite worked its way into my listening list. I recently listened to the album Black holes and Revelations… and I have to say that its pretty much blown me away. Musically speaking the guys are quite amazing. Performance anxiety, (which is also known as stage fright), is something that affects most new musicians. And the reason why is obvious. If they mess up on their songs, they put their career in jeopardy and that would not help with improving conversion rates on their record sales. They may also get ridiculed by the press for their bad performance.

In the world of music, people with perfect pitch are viewed as being incredibly talented. What is perfect pitch? Simply defined, perfect pitch is the ability to recognize notes without hearing them first. Such abilities can make singing and music creation much easier, since you don’t have to do as much work with music notation.

STOP PRESS!!! A new night has started (well new-ish; it’s already been going for about 6 months but I just heard about it last month, so it’s new to me, and therefore, new to you!!) and it’s called CHEMISTRY! They run a music showcase type night every first Thursday of the month and have been featuring some top up and coming soul/funk/gospel artists. A few years ago the RIAA, (also known as the Recording Industry Association of America), held a Corporate event and decided to start cracking down on music downloading. But instead of going after the file-sharing networks, the organization decided to sue the little guys– teens and others who downloaded large amounts of music files.

It is a sad day for hulf hogan. No one should have to go through that. If anything, it can ruin one’s life for good and I do not ever see Hulk Hogan ever being able to fully recover and get the support that he needs to be forgiven. There are many well established bands that have a big following. Some of them are main stream selling millions of records such as Coldplay or Placebo. There are also well established artists that whilst aren’t famous, have a cult following that make them well established, they are the artist that can pack a venue by putting a few emails out to select emailing lists. Kimya Dawson is one of my favourite examples of this. She is a solo artist with a very specific sound, and her music is truly beautiful! She has developed a huge following – huge if you include all her fans worldwide. If you only take the fans in a single area or country, she isn’t established, but thanks to the internet, she really is established.
